Membership
The 48 members of the NBDTC are elected in even-numbers years from the
city's voting districts. Election is by direct primary. Vacancies during the
two-year term are filled by members of the voting district where the vacancy
occurs. The NBDTC welcome associate members to join committees and
participate in a non-voting and advisory capacity.

Candidate Endorsements
The NBDTC, by a majority vote of members present, selects party-endorsed
candidates individually for all municipal offices in odd-numbered years. A
nominations committee serves as a candidate screening committees and
develops a platform for the city election. Delegates to conventions are
selected by slate in even-numbered years. Delegates are selected for
multi-town legislative seats and for conventions where guvernatorial, U.S.
Senat, Congress and state constitutional office candidates are selected.
